Rosaline's family was branded as witches and driven out of Rome. They fell in with a band of gypsies and started traveling in Europe. While they were in the Low Countries, a group of ruffians began harrassing Rosaline and one of the other gypsies, and then attacked the band. Members of St. Michael's heard the commotion and put a stop to it, but not before Rosaline's parents were killed. Rosaline has sworn to serve the Salle and its members.
